Ubuntu Local Community Teams

The user groups in the world of IT are a perfect way to get enthusiasts together, no matter their background, age or profession, and provide them with a platform in which they can provide support and solutions for their IT community. Ubuntu also benefits from user groups, which are commonly known as the LoCo groups. The aim of these groups is to help the enthusiast of Ubuntu to work together in regional teams in order to contribute to the development and improvement of Ubuntu technology. There are different groups organized all over the world and it is a community driven project.

Becoming a member in an Ubuntu user group is rather easy as long as one has an interest in this technology. These groups are formed by individuals from different parts of the world but who are connected by their passion for Ubuntu. Joining a team means becoming part of a worldwide network that advocates for the development and improvement of Ubuntu. It is a way to learn more and to share one's knowledge with other individuals with the same interest. The LoCo project provides one with a LoCo directory where individuals can find more information about the local teams that exist, such as where they are located, what is their main aim and how to join. The Ubuntu local teams are considered a great opportunity for those who want to engage in a different type of activity when it comes to developing IT technology. The groups are formed by professionals but also enthusiasts or simply users who are interested in the subject. Thus one does not have to have studied IT or anything else to join these groups but the only condition is to be interested in Ubuntu technology and advocate for its improvement and development. User groups are at this moment spread over all continents and they can be found in countries such as Australia, Finland, Belgium, Portugal, Romania, Netherlands, Latina America and much more.
